A look at trees...

Tabbi and I went for a walk in the woods to look at trees.  We found a few other interesting things while we were out there.  First of all, this leaf that looked like it had snow on it!  There wasn't any other of the white stuff around and it was way too warm for snow!  We don't know WHAT it was!
 Mushrooms on a dead stump.
 a birch tree
Tabbi pulled a piece off and thought it looked like a scroll.
 Poplar tree
hitchhikers that were on my jacket!
 a roughed grouse
One of or goals for today was to take a photo of four parts of a tree.  Tabbi chose this Spruce tree.
Spruce tree bark...

 ...branches
 ...needles
 ...and roots!
This is our maple tree, but the leaves are almost all off already.
 Tabbi's favorite tree!
